The team event is new for 2020 and will see teams of 3-6 riders take on the team event with each rider also being eligible for general classification in the age group race.

EVENT DAY TIMES
- 7:15am - Start waves commence
- 11:30am – Prize Giving
Teams will be starting in the age group waves. The entire team must be in the same wave.
- 7:35am - 110km Age Group Wave 1 - estimated finish time of under 2:55 hours
- 7:40am - 110km Age Group Wave 2 - estimated finish time of 2:55 - 3:15 hours
- 7:45am - 110km Age Group Wave 3 - estimated finish time of 3:15 - 3:35 hours
- 7:50am - 110km Age Group Wave 4 - estimated finish time of 3:35 - 4:00 hours
- 7:55am - 110km Age Group Wave 5 - estimated finish time of 4:00+ hours
To ensure a safe and fair event for all riders we have different starting groups. Each age group is started with 5 minutes between each wave to allow riders to spread out. Choose a start group based on the time you estimate it will take you to complete the ride. Times are recorded electronically by the timing tag as you cross the start and finish lines so no group will be disadvantaged. Be realistic and carefully choose your start waves.
CUT OFF TIME
If cyclists have not reached Kawakawa Bay shops by 1:00pm, they will be asked to step into the support van. NOTE: all riders successfully made the cut off in 2019

NUUN DRINK STATIONS
The Nuun drink stations will be located at the 40km and 70km distance markers. There will be an electrolyte hydration aid station for competitors provided by Nuun Hydration & Water. Learn more
Our placing awards are Gold, Silver and Bronze medals for the top 3 teams. All team riders are also eligible for the general classification in the age group race. Check out the age groups here
The team results are based on aggregate finishing time of the first 3 team riders and will include bonus time won on the SPRINT and KOM challenge.
A team can win bonus time on the SPRINT and KOM challenges. The teams that sets the top 3 fastest times will be awarded the time bonuses as follows. NOTE: The time for the team is recorded when the first rider in that team triggers the timing point.
